    The authors would like to call attention to the fact that reference 42 is incorrectly referenced in this manuscript. The intron in that study is self-splicing and does not require a protein for excision. In contrast, the Thermoproteales introns require a tRNA splicing endonuclease for excision. The authors apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
